Recent publications include his papers for these events, as well as articles for Trusts & Estates, The Journal of Wealth Management and other publications for professionals engaged in tax and estate planning.
STEVE is recognized as one of the top 1% of lawyers in the U.S. by virtue of his inclusion in the “Best Lawyers of America.” He has also been voted by his peers in Los Angeles County as a “Super Lawyer,” and was further recognized as one of the top 100 vote recipients county-wide among all practice areas in 2004.
STEVE is a “Certified Specialist” in two areas: Taxation Law, and Estate Planning and Probate Law (certification by the Board of Legal Specialization of the State Bar of California) and is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (“ACTEC”) and serves as a Member of the ACTEC Employee Benefits and Business Planning Committees.
STEVE is a member of the Editorial Advisory Board for Trusts & Estates, The Journal of Wealth Management (Retirement Benefits Section) and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami School of Law graduate program in Estate Planning.
From 1996 to 1998, STEVE served as Chair of the Committee on Estate and Gift Taxation, Taxation Section of the California State Bar. He is an active member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
STEVE attended the University of Illinois where he received his undergraduate, MBA, and JD degrees. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1978 and to the California Bar in 1983. He became licensed as an Illinois CPA in 1979.
