UNITED STATES INCOME, ESTATE AND GIFT TAXATION OF ALIENS
presented by Jane Peebles, Esq.
The Estate Planning Council of San Bernardino County is excited to welcome Jane Peebles to the February meeting to present on the topic of international estate planning.
Jane Peebles is a founding partner of Karlin & Peebles, LLP in Los Angeles, California. Jane will review critical concepts every estate planner should know when working with international clients. She will cover the basics of how the U.S. taxes resident and nonresident aliens, what assets of foreign clients are subject to U.S. estate taxes, and special rules regarding gifting opportunities when family members live abroad, including coverage of treaty exceptions. She will share many examples and war stories to help you see how these concepts apply in real life.
