RISK MITIGATION FOR THE SUCCESSOR TRUSTEE
presented by Josh Yager, JD, CFP, ChFC
The Estate Planning Council of San Bernardino County is excited to welcome Josh Yager to present at the February virtual meeting.
Stepping into the role of successor trustee can be challenging. The common preference of most settlors is to name a non-professional - typically a family member or friend as the successor trustee. Unfortunately, few of these successor trustees have the time, interest or training to manage the complexities of a trust administration. Mistakes can expose the successor trustee to personal liability. This presentation will explore the seven key risk mitigation strategies that, if adopted, can dramatically reduce this risk.
Mr. Yager is a recognized expert on the management and oversight of trust assets. He lectures and writes extensively on the policies, procedures and practices of trust administration and has been the featured speaker at Bar Association, AICPA and Professional Fiduciary Association events.
